Symptoms
While performing a SharePoint source analysis, Sharegate displays the following message:
Custom features need to be manually deployed at the destination prior to the migration and might need adjustments to work with the new version.

Details
Custom features are not included in the out-of-the-box versions of SharePoint. They need to be manually deployed in the destination environment.
During a SharePoint source analysis, if you received the Custom Feature error, export the error details and you will see one of the following in the details column :
- The following custom site feature is activated: 'Custom Feature Name'.

The following custom site feature is activated: '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000'.
- Note: This is the real id of the feature, and will only show if the hidden feature it is related to has no name. In this case, it's preferable to ask your SharePoint administrator for that particular feature.
Solution
Ensure the feature is installed at the destination. If it isn't installed already, install it. When a feature is correctly installed, Sharegate will be able to activate it or deactivate it.
Note: Depending on the custom feature, some elements related to it may not be properly migrated by Sharegate.
