Understand your Migration report
Your migration report serves to give you a detailed view of which items migrated successfully, and which items had warnings or errors associated with them when attempting to migrate.
Understand warnings and errors
When running a large migration, it is normal to see many warnings and errors as your results load.
When you get an indication to Show item-level filter option to display the details, you need to click on Filter and check the Show Item-Level in the Options section to see details regarding errors or warnings on list items and documents. For more information, see Show item-level filter option to display the details.
Warnings
A warning indicates that your item type was successfully migrated to the destination, but a modification needed to occur to get it there, or something needed to be left out. A common example is a list that migrates successfully without a source field because that field is not supported in the destination environment.
When warnings occur, it is generally because something is not supported between versions, and the best solution is to manually create a substitute in your destination environment.
Errors
An error indicates that the ShareGate migration tool was not able to migrate the item type to the destination. Errors can be complex, and always have associated error codes and articles to help you work through why the error occurred and indicate if there is a solution or workaround. You need to click the provided Help links (on the last column) to access the articles.
Export your report
You can export your results as an XLSX or CSV file. From Tasks, click the Export button and save the file to your preferred location. For a detailed walkthrough, see Export sessions.
Open your Migration report using your preferred spreadsheet software. Use the software's filtering capabilities to refine the data and investigate the Migration report in greater detail.
In Excel, for example, you can filter data in a range or table. Start by filtering the Status column to reveal only errors and/or warnings. Further filter the data to look for a specific site, list, or library. Use this information to make changes or improvements for future migrations.
