How often will ShareGate crawl for inactive teams and groups?
ShareGate crawls for newly created teams, groups, owners, and the total number of members every hour. Crawled workspaces are excluded from ShareGate crawls for 7 days.
Note: A team or group is considered inactive if there is no activity in all 4 scanned workspaces (Outlook conversations, Outlook Calendar, SharePoint, and Teams). For more information, see How does ShareGate crawl workspaces to detect inactive teams and groups?
What happens if an owner accidentally deletes their team or group?
Ultimately, owners are responsible for managing their teams and groups. However, if an owner accidentally deletes a team or group, you can restore a deleted team.
Why isn't ShareGate detecting my tenant's Outlook activity?
ShareGate requires consent to access certain user permissions when crawling for Outlook activity. This consent is granted when you connect to ShareGate Protect for the first time.
Outlook conversations for both public and private groups are supported.
The Outlook calendar is not guaranteed to be detected. For the Outlook calendar to be properly detected:
- The app requires a valid user token.
- The group has to be public, or your admin account has to be a group member.
