How long does it take to archive a team or group?
When you archive a team or group, the archive process will start within 24 hours. The time it takes to complete an archive depends on 2 factors:
- The original size of your team or group.
- The archive queue.
ShareGate uses Azure instances to run the process that archives content into the Azure storage. There is a limit of 200 instances running at the same time, so ShareGate creates a first-come-first-served archive queue.
Note: Experiencing issues with your archives? Consult the troubleshooting article, Retry failed archives, for more details.
Where is data stored when using the default Azure storage account?
When you use the default Azure storage account, all the data archived by ShareGate is stored in Microsoft Azure's East US 2 region.
For more information on ShareGate's approach to data security, see Security overview.
Note: You can use a custom Azure storage account to store your data in your preferred region. For more information about your Azure storage options, see Azure storage options for archiving.
