Copy structure and content - Copy a list or library to the same site

The Copy structure and content feature allows you to copy a list or library within the same site if you give that list or library a new name and URL.

Prerequisites

• You have site collection admin permissions on your source site collection.
• You have term store admin permissions on your source and destination if you have managed metadata (Terms, Term sets, Term set groups) in your migration scope.

Note: Site collection admin permissions are required even if you have higher admin privileges like SharePoint admin or global admin permissions. For more information, see Microsoft administrative permissions.

How-to

1. Select Copy from the menu.
2. Select Copy structure and content.
3. Add your source credentials.
4. Click Connect.
5. Select your source. 
6. Click Next.
7. Add your destination credentials. This address is the same site address as the source.
8. Click Connect.
9. Select your destination. 
10. Click Next.
11. Select the list or library you would like to copy from the source.
12. Click Options.
13. Under the General tab, change the source title and URL.
    
    Note: Make sure that the new title and URL are not already in use by another list or library in the destination site. If so, the ShareGate migration tool will merge your selected list or library into the existing one.
14. Click Start copy in the bottom right corner.

Once the action is completed, the migration report will show any successes, warnings, or errors. For more information, see Migration report.
